Entering into the Time of Christ: Reflections on the Eucharist with Hans Urs von Balthasar. Human consciousness exists in a constant reconfiguration of the three dimensions of time: past, presence and future. The attentiveness to this setting can be disturbed: by melancholy and grief over the lost, by a sorrowful view of the coming. In contrast, Jesus Christ is the man living in the constant presence of God, doing the will of the father. Taking up reflections of Hans Urs von Balthasar this essay considers the potential of the Eucharist to cure the brokenness of human consciousness of time. Communion means to enter into Christ’s presence from where originates a new relation to time.
