Der Artikel analysiert die Haltung des Heiligen Offiziums in Bezug auf "Rasse" (Fragen der Sterilisation, Eugenik, Rechtfertigung und Missbrauch von Rassen-Diskurs, Antisemitismus, Verbindung mit Nationalismus und Totalitarismus, Euthanasie). Lehramtliche Äußerungen werden ebenso berücksichtigt wie individuelle Entscheidungen. Angesichts der kurialen Politik fällt die Tendenz zu grundsätzlichen Überlegungen und zu klaren Entscheidungen auf. Wiederholt werden solche Initiativen "von oben" gestoppt; aber das Heilige Offizium "inspirierte" auch diverse Stellungnahmen von Kurie und Papst. Diese Netzwerke sind Teil der Untersuchung.
„‚Problems of race‘ as theme of the Congregation of the Holy Office between 1920 and 1945“ – The article analyzes the attitude of the Holy Office regarding „race“ (questions of sterilization, eugenics, justification and misuse of racial discourse, anti-semitism, link with nationalism and totalitarism, euthanasia). Magisterial proclamations are considered as well as individual decisions. With regard to the curial policy strikes the tendency to fundamental considerations and to clear decisions. Repeatedly such initiatives have been stopped from „above“; but the Holy Office also „inspired“ different articulations of Curia and Pope. These networks are part of the investigation.
