Confessional Cooperation. New Chances and Perspectives for Reflecting Faith? The dilemma of confessional Religious Education in school has been described many times: If it encourages students to learn about doctrine and belief, it quickly runs the risk of being perceived as meaningless. On the other hand, when the RE lesson focuses on anthropological topics, it degenerates into a generally poor Ethics lesson. Confessional cooperation now seems at first sight to offer the opportunity to escape this dilemma. But is this true? What does empirical research tell us about this new model of RE in School?
