Unhintergehbare FreiheitThomas Pröppers Beitrag zur Ethik und Kritik des Gehorsams

Although institutionalized Christianity has chosen obedience as the epitome of discipleship and fellowship with Jesus, this dominance is not without its theological difficulties – particularly where an ethos of obedience legitimizes dirigist action against freedom and otherness. Against this Pröpper has presented a theological critique of obedience. His discussion of the Christian imperative of obedience serves as an important example of an autonomous ethic that calls for social structures that are informed by “the absolute-is-ought quality of freedom”.
