Der Aufsatz zeigt, dass die Nimrod-Notiz der Völkertafel Gen 10 in zwei Schritten (10,8.10-12 und 10,9) hinzugewachsen ist, um die geschichtlichen Großreiche Mesopotamiens bereits urgeschichtlich zu disqualifizieren. Ein historisches Vorbild für Nimrod lässt sich nicht plausibel machen, vielmehr wurde Nimrod entsprechend den Vorstellungen altorientalischer Königsideologie gezeichnet.
The paper shows that the brief story about Nimrod has been added to the Table of Nations Gen 10 in two steps (10,8.10-12 and 10,9) in order to cast the great Mesopotamian empires in a negative light already primordially. There exists no historical prototype for the Biblical Nimrod; rather, he is modeled according to Ancient Near Eastern royal ideology.
