Gemäß dem Forschungskonsens sind die apokryphen Johannesakten (ActJoh) christomonistisch, da sie Jesus Christus als alleinigen Gott präsentieren, an den dementsprechend auch alle Gebete gerichtet sind. Jedoch haben Forscher bisher ActJoh 90 nicht berücksichtigt, ein Kapitel, das auf die kanonischen Evangelienberichte von der Verklärung Bezug nimmt und das Jesus Christus zu Gott dem Vater beten lässt. Auf den ersten Blick scheint dieses Kapitel im Widerspruch zum Christomonismus der Johannesakten zu stehen. Wie die vorliegende narrativ-kritische Untersuchung von ActJoh 90 aber aufzeigt, steht dieses Kapitel im Einklang mit dem Christomonismus, der in der erzählten Welt der Johannesakten vorherrschend ist.
According to the majority of scholars, the apocryphal Acts of John are Christomonistic, i.e., they present Jesus Christ as the one and only God to whom all prayers are addressed. However, so far, scholars did not take into account Acts John 90, a chapter that refers to the canonical gospel narratives of the transfiguration and that pictures the earthly Jesus as praying to God the Father. At first sight, this chapter seems to question the Christomonism attributed to the Acts of John. However, the present narrative-critical study of Acts John 90 suggests that this chapter can be harmonized with the overall Christomonistic story world of the Acts of John.
