This article discusses The Meaning of Belief. Religion from an Atheist’s Point of View by Tim Crane. I analyze Crane’s concept of religion, his criticism of New Atheism, and the way he conceives of the relation between religion and science. Finally, I briefly explore the consequences of Crane’s decision to examine only the meaning, not the truth, of religious statements.
