Zusammenfassung / Summary
The physicalistic view of man draws its persuasive power from the functional and explanatory success of science and the scientific method. Be this as it may, it also leaves some questions unanswered. This paper therefore seeks to discuss both the plausibility and the limits of the physicalistic approach. It advocates a non-reductive position that does justice to scientific analysis in contemporary physics and biology.
