On Pain: Ernst Jünger and Viktor von Weizsäcker. Pain is one of the deepest experiences of being human. The idea, that illness and suffering could have a reason in personal guilt is already questioned in the bible. Coming back to the writings of Ernst Jünger and Viktor von Weizsäcker this essay argues, nevertheless, that the experience of pain can trigger a process of reflexion on human existence, conscience and the guilt of the past.
