Self-discovery and the Mystery of Encounter: An Orthodox Perspective. In encountering the divine mystery, the human capacity for relationship is renewed. Love of God and love of each other conform to the same life in the Holy Spirit, which leads to the center of the human’s personality. Stăniloae draws on the tradition of the Christian East and shows its direct anthropological and social relevance in our day, not in the sense of a moral demand but as a direct consequence of theological reflection and experience.
