The Idea of Europe as Christian «Abendland». This article examines from a Christian point of view if the concept of Europe as «christliches Abendland» is in any way still a constructive and viable contribution to the debate about European identity. The inevitable anachronism of the «Abendland» idea does not necessarily imply that Europe and Christianity are essentially separated spheres.
