Certainty of Confidence: On the Epiclectic Formation of Tradition. This article foregrounds the temporal nature of religious truth. Truth is a multidimensional event that can be described through movement and relation. It thus has to be transmitted in a language that considers this. Understanding tradition as an epiclectic event shows, that a static view of the contents of tradition is both historically and pneumatologically inadequate.
