Romano Guardini’s Quest in the Void. The Corona-pandemic shattered our daily life and confronted us with a void. The ‘new normal’ life will be fruitful only when we understand this void. In search for a good interaction with it, I consult a teacher of Pope Francis: Romano Guardini, who has spoken of a faithful attitude in the context of void. Guardini explores the dangers of this attitude interpreting Rilke, Nietzsche and Dostojevsky, especially the threat of giving up on personality. But amidst these dangers he explores a path along abysses. According to Guardini realising faith within void in a proper way means surpassing modernity into a new era. Then the corona-pandemic could become a passage into a positive postmodernity.
