Obwohl dem Autor von Ezra 1-2 die Exodus-Geschichte höchstwahrscheinlich bekannt war, nutzte er diese Überlieferung nicht als Rahmen für seine Erzählung über die Rückkehr aus Babylon. Meiner Meinung nach ist die Ansicht von Gunneweg, dass Ezra die Rückkehr aus dem Exil als eine Wiederherstellung vorexilischer Institutionen verstanden haben will, plausibler.
Although the Exodus-story most probably was known to the author of Ezra 1-2 he did not use this tradition as a dress for his narrative on the return from Babylon. In my opinion, the view of Gunneweg that Ezra construes the return from Exile as a restauration of pre-exilic institutions is more plausible.
