Zusammenfassung / Abstract

“Context and structure of the Victor Schultze Collection in Greifswald” – In the Faculty of Theology of the University of Greifswald a collection is kept which is named after the former church historian Professor Victor Schultze from the same institution. This was build up from the year 1885 onwards and is obviously the only still existing collection of some others which were meant to give the students an insight into history not only from the written sources but also from the “material sources”. Probably inspired by Franz Xaver Kraus and also by the now destroyed collection at the University of Leipzig Schultze collected replicas and some original pieces of art work covering the period from classical antiquity to modern times. In this article the history and context of this Victor-Schultze-Collectionwill be established.
