Felix Körner SJ: Religions as Political Inspiration? Theology of World Shaping: Christianity and Islam
In pluralistic societies, religions are no longer founders of unity. However, they can provide orientation knowledge for decision-making situations. The Islamic scholar and Jesuit Felix Körner offers the term for this: Religion as inspiration, i. e. as a shaping factor for personal conscience and common consciousness. How does this happen concretely, for example on the path to social-ecological transformation? Christianity achieves this with the message of the coming of God’s Kingdom (“historical”), Islam via the call to human responsibility before the Day of Judgement (“judicial”).

Dans les sociétés pluralistes, les religions ne sont plus des facteurs d’unité. Elles peuvent toutefois fournir des pistes d’orientation éthique dans des situations de décision. L’islamologue et jésuite Felix Körner propose à cet égard le concept de « religion comme inspiration », c’est-à-dire comme facteur de formation de la conscience personnelle et de la conscience collective. Comment cela se passe-t-il concrètement par exemple sur le chemin de la transformation socio-écologique ? Le christianisme se réfère ici au message du royaume de Dieu déjà à venir (approche historique), l’islam fait appel à la responsabilité humaine en vue du jour du jugement (approche judiciaire).
