The contemporary diagnosis of the Anthropocene postulates a fundamental change in man’s understanding of the world and himself: To an unprecedented extent, as well as on a global scale, he influences the ecology of planet Earth. Against this backdrop, the essay develops the thesis that the Anthropocene as an epochal consciousness forms the framework of a contemporary peace ethics. It outlines the essential cornerstones of this awareness and explains why anthropology in particular plays a key role in the peace-ethical discourse.

Le diagnostic de l’époque actuelle comme » anthropozoïque « postule un changement fondamental dans la compréhension que l’homme a du monde et de lui-même. Les influences sur l’écologie de la planète Terre augmentent dans une mesure inédite et à l’échelle mondiale. Dans ce contexte, l’essai développe la thèse selon laquelle l’anthropozoïque en tant que conscience d’époque constitue le cadre d’une éthique de paix adaptée à nos jours. Il expose les fondements essentiels de cette conscience et explique pourquoi à l’anthropologie incombe une fonction clé dans le débat sur l’éthique de la paix.
