Marian Feist, Dirk Messner: Climate Politics, Digitalisation and Social Cohesion. The Great Transformation under New Conditions
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement were two crucial steps for the great transformation toward sustainability. This does not mean, however, that the societal framework for this transformation can be considered constant. Rather, the contextual dynamics that the great transformation is embedded in are continually changing. This article discusses three areas that are essential to the transformation and that highlight the evolution of the related challenges: climate politics, digitalisation, and social cohesion. All three aspects relate to developments that had already begun by the time of the SDGs and the Paris Agreement, but the significance of which has become particularly clear in recent years.

Les objectifs du développement durable (ODD) et l’Accord de Paris étaient deux étapes essentielles dans la grande transformation vers la durabilité. Cela ne veut pas dire que, sur le plan social, les conditions-cadre soient constantes. Au contraire, les dynamiques comtextuelles, dans lesquelles s’inscrit la grande transformation sont en train de changer. Cet article met en lumière trois domaines qui sont essentiels à la transformation et qui illustrent le changement des défis qui y sont liés : politique climatique, numérisation et cohésion sociale. Ces trois aspects ont trait à des développements qui avaient déjà commencé à l’époque des ODD et de l’Accord de Paris, mais dont l’importance est devenue particulièrement évidente ces dernières années.
