Christoph Krauß, Arnd Küppers: An Unstable Bridge between Different Legal and Economic Systems. Basic Reflections on the Transatlantic Free Trade Agreements
Free trade is a demand expresse by modern economic science. The free market is an ideal of both the US-American as well as the European economic systems. There are, however, divergences between the US and Europe as regards the basic conditions and limitations of this market operation. These differences can be explained. During the negotiations on TTIP and CETA they have to be taken into account. A „downward competition“ with respect to social and consumer-protection standards has to be avoid from a social ethical view.

Le libre-échange est une revendication de toute science économique moderne. Le marché libre est un idéal du système économique, tant des Etats Unis que de l‘Europe. Pourtant il y a des divergences entre les Etats Unis et l‘Europe concernant le cadre juridique et la portée de l’action du marché. Ces différences peuvent s’expliquer. Il faut les prendre en considération lors des négociations sur TTIP et CETA. Du point de vue de l’éthique sociale, il ne doit pas y avoir du » dumping « sur les standards sociaux et la protection des consommateurs.
