Finanzmarktkapitalismus: Die Macht der Finanzmärkte und ihre Bedeutung für die Realökonomie

Der Beitrag behandelt aktuelle ökonomische Entwicklungen unter dem Begriff des Finanzmarktkapitalismus. Finanzmarktkapitalismus steht dabei für eine Konstellation, in der Finanzmärkte und Finanzmarktakteure als entscheidende Impulsgeber der wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung fungieren. Diese Macht wächst ihnen – so die zentrale These des Beitrags – nicht aufgrund verschärfter ökonomischer Zwangsmittel zu, sondern beruht auf der Herausbildung einer neuen Begründungsordnung in der Finanzmarktöffentlichkeit. Finanzmarktkapitalismus stellt sich auf dieser Grundlage weniger als konsistente und stabile neue Epoche des Kapitalismus dar, sondern als höchst spannungsvolle und widersprüchliche Konstellation mit erheblichen Risiken für die allgemeine wirtschaftliche Entwicklung.

This essay deals with current economic developments known by the term fi - nancial market capitalism. Financial market capitalism stands for the interaction of fi nancial markets and their protagonists as decisive agents of economic and social development. They accumulate this power – and this is the central thesis of the essay – not because of economic necessity but rather because of the emergency of a new method of explaining their action in the fi nancial market public. Financial market capitalism is not so much a consistent and stable new era in capitalism but rather a highly contradictory setup with considerable risks for the general economic development.
